Description This two-semester program has been developed to meet the utility industry's need for trained, entry level employees. It is the only college certificate program offered in Michigan designed specifically to prepare men and women to install and repair business and residential electrical, telephone, and telegraph transmission systems. Students complete 37 credit hours of practical theory and hands-on training using actual equipment and materials in classroom, lab and field setings.

Admission Requirements Apply to colege. Students must be able to climb 40 foot power poles to successfully complete the first semester. Each student is expected to supply the following equipment for his/her use: Hard Hat, safety glasses, lineman belt, safety strap and climbers, rain wear, work shoes/boots, various hand tools required by trade.
