Description This program prepares students for an entry-level position in kitchen and bath design. Under the direction of professional instructors, students combine basic design principles and knowledge of technical and mechanical concepts to design environments that assure public health, safety and welfare. The curricula provides students an opportunity to select and specify building materials, mechanical/electrical systems, building codes, appliances and cabinetry. Skills are developed using manual- and computer-generated applications to develop contractual documents, and graphic presentations. Certification and two years work experience may qualify students to sit for the NKBA Certification exam. The endorsement by the National Kitchen and Bath Association is currently under review.
